New Entrance Screening Protocol

Dear Louis Brier Home and Hospital Families and Visitors,

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all residents, staff, and guests, we will be implementing a new entrance screening protocol at the front door of our facility effective March 2, 2026.

What to Expect When You Arrive

The screening process will take place through the intercom located to the left of the front entrance prior to entering the facility.

Please dial 101 and press the green bell. A member of our reception or nursing team will greet you and complete a brief screening before unlocking the door.

You may be asked to confirm:

  • The name of the resident you are visiting

  • Your relationship to the resident (if unfamiliar to staff)

If staff do not recognize you, additional confirmation or identification may be requested. As our reception desk is staffed by multiple team members, some may know you while others may not. We appreciate your patience and understanding if you are asked to confirm your visit.

For safety reasons, please wait for staff to unlock the door and do not allow others to enter behind you unless they have also been screened.

Once entry is granted, please proceed directly to sign in according to our visitor procedures.

Deliveries and Contractors

All delivery personnel and contractors are also required to complete entrance screening and may be directed to a designated receiving area upon arrival.

Health and Safety Expectations

To help protect our residents and staff:

  • Please postpone your visit if you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms of illness.

  • Additional precautions may be required during outbreak or enhanced safety periods.

Reception or nursing staff will confirm visits and authorize entry in accordance with facility safety procedures. Entry may be delayed or declined if screening requirements are not met or if safety concerns arise.

Why We’re Introducing This

These steps are designed to:

  • Enhance safety and security for residents and staff

  • Ensure only authorized individuals enter the building

  • Maintain a calm and supportive environment for everyone

The process is intended to be brief, respectful, and focused on keeping our community safe while continuing to welcome families and visitors.

If you have any questions about this protocol, please feel free to contact reception.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe and caring environment for all.
