Board of Directors

The Board of Directors, as representatives of the Louis Brier and the community, is the primary volunteer force ensuring that the Society fulfils its mission and realizes its opportunities and obligations for service. In accordance with the Bylaws, the Board as a whole is responsible for providing oversight and acting in a governance capacity with regards to the property and affairs of the Society.

The primary role of the Board is one of governance, including being responsible for the hiring and performance management of the Chief Executive Officer and supervising the financial affairs of the Society. The Board fulfills its governance role by overseeing and providing direction to the Chief Executive Officer with regards to the conduct of the affairs of the Society.

Each Director of the Board is expected to be familiar with the Constitution and Bylaws of the Society and it is a fundamental duty of all Directors to be familiar with the constitutional documents of the organization of which they are a Director.
