Long-term care accommodations at the Louis Brier Home & Hospital
Our two-storey care building accommodates 91 residents on the second floor and 124 residents on our main floor, 17 of which are in our Special Care Unit. We strive to create the feel of home as well as to foster a sense of community.
The main floor is a centre of activity and offers several communal areas including a large lounge area with fireplace, piano, library, and big screen television, a bright dining room, a recreation activity room, a gift shop, gardens, and our administrative offices. Our synagogue is also located on the main floor.
The second floor includes the Rehabilitation gym, a clinical room (for services such as dentistry and podiatry), a hair salon, activity room, and additional administrative offices.
Each of these floors has nursing stations, a lounge area, dining room, and bathing rooms.
Resident Rooms
All our Intermediate Care rooms (the “Home” on the first floor) are private and include a private two-piece bathroom. Our extended care rooms (the “Hospital” on the second floor) are a mix of private and semi-private, each room with its own private a two-piece bathroom. There are shower and bath facilities on each floor.
Furniture
The rooms come completely furnished with a bed, nightstand, chest of drawers and a closet. We encourage residents to decorate their bedrooms with their own familiar items, artwork, photos, and other personal mementos to create a space that is uniquely their own.
Cable/Telephone
All rooms are equipped with connections for telephone and cable television. We have negotiated competitive plans with cable and telephone providers, and we’re happy to pass these cost savings down to you. Please inquire about these rates in our business office.
