Major Incidents During the Lapu-Lapu Festival

Dear Louis Brier Home & Hospital and Weinberg Residence Residents, Families, and Dedicated Staff,

In light of the tragic events that unfolded during the Lapu-Lapu Festival in Vancouver on April 26, on behalf of the leadership team, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the impact this may be having on all of you — both personally and professionally.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by this incident. As caregivers, you carry an extraordinary amount of emotional responsibility every day, and moments like these can weigh especially heavily. Please know that your feelings are valid, and you are not alone.

Louis Brier has always been a place of compassion, resilience, and community. In times of sorrow and uncertainty, leaning on one another is more important than ever. I encourage you to reach out if you need support, whether through talking with a colleague, accessing available wellness resources, or simply taking a moment for yourselves.

Your strength and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you for the care you continue to provide to our residents and each other, even during the most challenging of times.

Please take care of yourselves and of one another. Thanks,

David Keselman, CEO
