Cultural & spiritual programs at the Louis Brier Home & Hospital
All of us at the Louis Brier Home & Hospital are committed to the principles of Judaism. Our recreation and music therapy team organizes celebrations for Jewish holy days and festivals and incorporates daily cultural programs that support the uniqueness and depth of Jewish culture.
We are an integral and culturally rich part of Vancouver’s Jewish community. Community members — including rabbis, cantors, lay leaders, children and families — play a prominent role in maintaining and nurturing Jewish life at the Louis Brier Home & Hospital.
Life at the Louis Brier Home & Hospital is embedded with Jewish values and traditions. As this may mean something different to each individual, you’re able to observe Jewish traditions and holidays in the way that is most meaningful to you.
Our chaplain, Hazzan Rob Menes, is available to provide spiritual support. This can be important and helpful during life’s challenging moments. Cultural and spiritual support is often accompanied by different modalities that can include our music and recreation therapists, social worker and other visiting professionals. Together this provides a rich community where your life and culture is valued and honoured.
